In the Bible a tree is often a symbol for a person or a group of people. A tree in fertile soil produces abundant beautiful fruit. Similarly, the word of God received by a receptive heart produces the fruit of the Spirit—–love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.
